1. What do you love about Notre Dame Academy?
The kids, teachers, and faculty alike are amazing at Notre Dame Academy. Everyone is extremely helpful and friendly. This school allows you to reach your fullest potential while also not pushing you too hard. This is the best decision my parents ever made for me.
2. How do you feel that Notre Dame is preparing you for graduation, high school? college and life? What are your goals?
3. In what ways has your faith grown as a result of your experiences at Notre Dame Academy?
I may not be Catholic, but this school has definitely instilled a strong moral compass in me. It has helped me discern the right from wrong in many a situation, while also allowing me to understand that some things are just grey, not just right or wrong. Also, there are multiple perspectives and that your’s is not the only correct one.
“ Walk, Talk, and Live in the Peace of Christ” means to make sure you wouldn’t do something that Jesus wouldn’t. This motto is repeated daily at the school and it really has an effect on the people in the school. I see kids about to do something wrong and then ask themselves,” Am I about to Walk, Talk, and Live in the Peace of Christ?” If the answer is no, the leave whatever they were just about to do. Teachers also help enforce the motto, asking students,” Are you walking, talking, and living in the peace of Christ?” All in all, I feel that it has really impacted my time at Notre Dame Academy by making everyone think before they act, including myself.
5. Describe one of your favorite teachers and tell why he/she is a favorite.
I actually have two favorite teachers. One of them was our Social Studies and Economics teacher last year but is now the Vice Principal and Economics teacher, Mr.Reid. His teaching style was interactive, making examples relatable by using something funny or relatable. He also made us collaborate with our peers, working in groups together. I feel that it was a great way to learn and I wish he was still our Social Studies teacher, though the new one is also amazing at her job. The other one is my science teacher, Mrs.Ilaria. Her style of teaching is more “ tough love”. You really have to work for your grade in that class and she loves to see creativity. She doesn’t use kid gloves to deal with us and I really appreciate that. She also teaches in a way that is easily understood by everyone, which is an amazing quality to have in any teacher, but especially science where they use complicated words and formulas.

While praying in the morning, afternoon, before, and after meals, for the past 9 years, my faith has grown every day. Our religion teachers inspire us daily, and students have the opportunity to receive a one of a kind experience on Friday mornings, where the school gathers for a prayer service. We attend mass once a month with our prayer buddies, which is a program at NDA where older students meet with younger children once a week to help them learn more about their faith.
